Approved Hisense Fridge and Freezer Repair Specialists Across London, the South East, and the Midlands
A fridge that’s stopped cooling is one of the few appliance faults that genuinely can’t wait because it leads to food spoils within hours. Hisense fridges and fridge freezers — particularly the PureFlat range with triple-zone cooling, the RQ multi-door American-style units, and the RS / RB / RL ranges are known for energy efficiency and clean design.
As an authorised Hisense service partner, the Domex team prioritises same-day visits for refrigeration faults: warm-fridge / cold-freezer, ice build-up, compressor failures, defrost system faults and the full range of E-code sensor errors. We bring genuine parts, have manufacturer-trained engineers and offer a 12-month guarantee on completed work.
Whether it’s a Hisense PureFlat that’s stopped cooling, an American-style multi-door losing its freezer temperature or an integrated fridge freezer making a constant humming noise, we keep refrigeration parts (compressors, evaporator fans, defrost heaters, thermistors) in stock in every engineer van.
At Domex, we cover London, the South East and the Midlands, including Nottingham, Leicester and Birmingham. Get in touch with us before your food spoils and rest assured our engineers will restore the functionality of your appliance, giving you confidence and peace of mind once more.
Common Hisense Fridge & Freezer Faults We Fix
Fridge not cooling
Your fridge is not cooling resulting in a fridge that’s warm? Get in touch with us before your food starts spoiling. Our engineers see this issue often and the most common reason is an evaporator fan failure that produces the F1 code on display models. It results in the fan circulating cold air from the freezer compartment to the fridge. Alternatively, the issue could be a door seal split letting warm air in or a defrost system failure causing ice to block the evaporator. Our engineers can fix these issues as well as compressor relay faults on the same-day of your emergency.
Freezer not freezing
You may also be facing an issue with your freezer not freezing. This often results in a freezer that’s warm and the key culprit is often the freezer compressor. The compressor start relay fault is common but it could also be caused by refrigerant loss, a thermostat / NTC sensor fault (conveyed by the E3 code) or the evaporator is iced over, preventing airflow. Your assigned engineer will distinguish between partial cooling and no cooling at all to carefully diagnose the issue and act with swiftness and precision to get your freezer cooling properly again.
Fridge freezer ice build-up
A fridge that has ice build-up or frost on the back wall often triggers a defrost heater fault, displayed by the E4 error code on models with a display. Our engineers can identify the error on the defrost heater open-circuit and defrost sensor or identify a bi-metal thermostat failure or a defrost timer board fault. Frost on the back wall of the fridge is a different fault to ice cubes welded together in the freezer drawer. All Domex engineers are trained to recognise this and carry out the right fixes to get your appliance to good functionality once again.
Fridge warm, but the freezer is cold
Dealing with a fridge that’s warm but the freezer is cold is often an airflow fault due to the evaporator fan or an air damper fault. This classic single-evaporator design fault happens because the freezer over-cools as cold air can’t reach the fridge. It’s a common error on RQ and RS multi-door units and our reliable fridge freezer repairs are the ideal solution.
Fridge leaking water
When your fridge is leaking water with puddles of water under the fridge, it often signals that your defrost drain is blocked. The defrost drain channel is the small rubber bung at the back of the fridge compartment and our same-day fridge freezer repairs can help. Your urgent fridge engineer will also be able to identify if you have a perished door seal, allowing for condensation, a water dispenser/inlet line leak (common in Hisense American-style models) or whether you have an evaporator pan crack.
Fridge noisy/loud humming
All fridges make some noise, but excessive noise or loud humming is not typical. If your fridge is noisy, emits loud humming noises or it sounds like it is buzzing, get in touch with us. Often, this fault indicates an evaporator fan that’s icing up (it results in rattling followed by stopping). However, it can also be an indication of compressor mount wear, a condenser fan obstruction (common in American-style fridges) or loose components vibrating against the back wall.
Fridge door alarm (D5)
A Hisense D5 error on your fridge’s display often triggers the door alarm. This is linked to a door switch fault and it could result in the door not closing properly because of misalignment. In such cases, your emergency fridge repair engineer will inspect the door switch or check for reed switch failure. They’ll see if the door seal is damaged, which results in the door looking closed but one that isn’t sealing. This fault is different to interior cooling problems and needs an approved specialist.
Hce maker not working (American-style RQ)
Your ice maker is not making ice? This is a common problem in the RQ-series, American-style models. The RQ ice maker fault often displays E9 / Eb codes. The underlying causes our engineers often encounter include a water inlet valve solenoid, ice maker module fault, inlet water line frozen or a drain leak inside the ice maker housing. Got Questions About Your Fridge Freezer? We Have Answers
My fridge has stopped cooling. What should I do first?
Check the freezer compartment. If the freezer is still cold but the fridge is warm, it’s usually an airflow fault (evaporator fan or air damper) and the contents of the freezer are safe. If both compartments are warm, move perishables to a cool bag and book a same-day visit. The most likely fault is the compressor or relay.
What does E4 mean on my fridge freezer?
E4 indicates a defrost-sensor fault. The fridge can’t tell when to defrost the evaporator, so frost builds up and cooling drops off. The fix is normally a sensor replacement. It is quick, inexpensive and we carry the parts in our vans.
Why is my fridge leaking water onto the kitchen floor?
Most often it’s a blocked defrost drain channel at the back of the fridge interior. Defrost meltwater can’t run away to the evaporation tray under the unit, so it backs up and runs forward. Clearing the channel is a 20-minute job in most cases.
Can you repair Hisense American-style fridge freezers like the RQ758?
Yes. American-style and French-door RQ and RF models are some of our most common visits. Ice maker faults, multi-door alignment and water dispenser inlet issues are all covered with genuine parts.
Is it worth repairing a fridge freezer that’s 7+ years old?
Often yes, but it depends on the fault. Fan, sensor and defrost-heater repairs are inexpensive and worth doing on most ages. Compressor / sealed-system repairs are a bigger investment. For these, we’ll quote up front and give you the choice to decide. A new American-style fridge freezer is £700+, so even bigger repairs usually make sense.
Do you handle sealed-system / refrigerant work on fridges?
Yes, where the unit is economically viable to repair. Sealed-system work requires F-Gas qualified handling and is quoted as a specialist job, separately from standard component repairs.
My freezer has thick ice on the back wall. Is that normal?
No. That’s a defrost system fault. A working fridge freezer melts that ice automatically every few hours. If you’re seeing visible ice, the defrost heater or sensor needs attention. Book an engineer before the ice blocks the evaporator fan and the fridge stops cooling too.
