Samsung Fridge Freezer Symbols

What to do: By pressing the Energy Saver button, the symbol lights up and you can get better energy efficiency from your appliance. However, it’s advised that you do not use this if you begin to notice condensation on your fridge-freezer doors.

What to do: Hold the button for 3 seconds to activate Power Freezer (rapid cooling). When this symbol lights up it means you’re using the freezer button. This allows you to choose a temperature from between -14℃ and -23℃, a function which is especially useful if you need to freeze an item in a short space of time.
Warning: Don’t use Power Freezer for >24 hours – it may overwork the compressor.

What to do: Press once to silence door alarm. Filter reset: Hold the button for 3 seconds after replacing the filter.

This button has two functions. Firstly, it can turn off the alarm which sounds when the door is left open, but you can also hold the alarm button to reset the water filter icon when changing the filter.

What the colours mean:

• Blue: Filter is new or recently reset.
• After ~5 months: indicator turns purple/pink (reminder it’s almost time).
• After 6 months: indicator turns red — replace immediately.

What to do: Your water filter should be changed every six months based on average use. This icon will light up blue upon first changing the filter, changing to pink after five months of usage, before finally turning red after the filter has been used for six months.

What to do: By holding the lighting button you can turn on the LED light for the dispenser unit.

What to do: By pressing the Fridge/Hold 3 sec for Power Cool button you choose the temperature you’d like to set for the fridge (between 1℃ and 7℃). You can speed up the cooling process with Power Cool by holding the button for 3 seconds, and doing the same again to cancel Power Cool.

What to do: Linked to the ‘Ice Type’ button on the control panel, when this icon is lit up your ice dispenser will give larger, cubed ice.

Linked to the ’Water’ button on the control panel, when this symbol is lit your dispenser will give you filtered water.

What to do: Linked to the Ice Off/Hold 3 sec for Child Lock button on your control panel, when this icon is lit your ice dispenser will be turned off.

What to do: Linked to the Ice Off/Hold 3 sec for Child Lock button on the control panel, by holding the button for three seconds you can put the child lock on to prevent children playing with the fridge-freezer functions.
